Africa First

Total Truth:

Africa has dominated much of the worlds press when relating to human disasters and suffering. At the core of most if not all reports is stated or implied that the answers can only come from the west primarily in monetary form. Financial aid not only tops the list of most wanting to assist but just as often stops there as well. Imagination doe not germinate well in Government largess.

The primary purpose of this blog is to invite comment and provoke discussion pertaining to the possibility that the problems of Africa may not be solved by western altruism in financial aid but in fact the answer(s) may well be based in a biblical world view.

Proposition: The Bible does not contain economic principles but is in fact an economic blueprint beginning with a simple covenant premise and promise; obey God and you Will be blessed; disobey God and you will be cursed. If this premise is true and that from God come all blessing and all cursing then should we not return to Him who promises such sanctions both negative and positive?

If His promises are true then does He leave us without the blueprint and the instruction book to fulfill in obedience our role? Surely not? Is the Western economic system to be a supplant for perhaps God's plan for Africa? Can we consider that all of our efforts during the last decades have failed and continue to fail because we ignore God's word and instead worship at the altars of Baal and Mammon? Do we recruit the prophets of Baal to do the bidding of a Holy and Just God? I wonder and I pause carefully at these questions because if, just if God's word has a plan and a blueprint for Africa should we not in obedience search that Word and discover that plan? Should we not when discovering that plan then also apply that plan?

I wonder if all of the gospel messages spread upon Africa has there yet been a voice that cries out; "Obey and you will be blessed, disobey and you will be cursed".

God has a plan for Africa and it is a redeeming plan beginning with man as an individual spreading to the family of man seeking eternal souls but it does not end there. God's plan of redemption for Africa begins with man but includes nations, peoples groups and in fact all things. All things are being brought unto the feet of Jesus. God has a plan for individuals, families, governments, church as an institution, economics, law, commerce, industry, business, banking, agriculture and all the way through legitimate and lawful human endeavors.
